![]() ![]() There is good monitoring of resource usage but DO expects you to know what you are doing. Everything I do is command line only and I don't miss Cpanel. They aren't responsible for the operating system you choose or for fixing Moodle problems. They supply you with a server and it is up to you what you do with it. Looks more expensive but you are getting someone to look after your database for you. Mentioned Managed Database as you were thinking about a DB droplet. The options are much more granular than GoDaddy. I would start with a basic droplet and go from there. You only pay for the hours of resources you use. ![]() If CPU and RAM usage are not where they should be, add or subtract resources. With DO it is much easier to set up a droplet, start with students and monitor performance. Many hosts want you to buy a package for a year or more. Standard LAMP stack on Ubuntu and one droplet held code and database. Stating with a basic general purpose droplet which was fine for my students, I went as high as 2CPU and 2gb of RAM. Last semester two other teachers joined me so these numbers would have doubled. My own Moodle was only for my students so usually only about 300 with up to 60 logged on at once. ![]()
